Our location offers guests a rich choice of archaeological, architectural and artistic sightseeing. There are 3 principal itineraries that we suggest – 1) The Etruscan Itinerary; 2) The Roman Itinerary; 3) The Medieval Itinerary.

The Etruscan Itinerary – Tuscany is the cradle of Etruscan Civilization as the cities of Volterra and Cortona testify. Trips to the Guarnacci Museum in Volterra, the mineral Park of S. Silvestro (Cecina), the Etruscan necropolis of Vada and Populonia are all highly recommended.

The Roman Itinerary – The Romans conquered the Etruscan territories about 100 b.c. With the Romans there came one of the most spectacular periods of construction in the history of man and the Tuscan cities of Siena and Florence are magnificent attributes to this and a must to see. We also recommend that you visit the ancient port of Portus Pisanus as well as the countless aqueducts, thermal baths and public buildings that dot the entire Tuscan region.

Medieval Itinerary – the Medieval period in Tuscany represented a period of expansion, urbanization and war. During this period Pisa became one of the 4 maritime republics and the development of ‘communal civilizations’ (Siena, Lucca, Firenze and Pisa). The period was marked by fractious relations between these renowned cities that often led to war and the spilling of blood. It also witnessed the start of the ‘Florentine’ and ‘Pisano’ styles which gifted us  marvels such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the basilica of San Miniato – must sees for all!!
